The Ongutoi Health Centre provides free care to its now 25-building facility with donations sent through the HAGCM, whose rotary clubs have global reach. A majority of its patients are expecting mothers, and through immense effort and donated funding, the hospital has reduced the mortality rate of infant or mother during birth from 10% to under 1%. Their “Fruit for a Future” initiative is a massive undertaking, planting orange trees in the acreage around the new fruit processing plant just a few km from the health facility.

Our Executive VP, Mack Csaszar explains: “The cause is very dire and having just had our own baby at Sunnybrook, I felt compelled to donate.”

UCEL has proudly made a substantial donation and we encourage others to have a look into this ambitious and hopeful cause.
